Favorite Spring Nail Polishes!

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Hiya! These are all of my favorite spring nail polishes. These are not my own pictures, but I own ALL of these polishes in my collection.

1. Mint Green. I love mint green, especially on my toes, and mint green is a really popular color for spring time. This one is Revon's Minted. It is a little bit sheer, but I'm willing to work with it.
2. "Perriwinkle Shades." Perriwinkle mixes my two favorite colors effortlessly. The only perriwinkle type shade I have, is more of a dusty blue, but it still works for me. I might purchase a true perriwinkle shade, sometime, but not now. This is Ulta's Bam-Blue-Zled. It's gorgeous and again, it's a dusty blue with a hint of purple.

3. Pinky-Lavender. One of my favorite pink colors, is Lavender Marquis by Sally Hansen. It's a pink, with some purple, green, blue, and yellow duochrome. It's really cool, but it takes a few coats.
4. Nudes. I love shimmery-champagne colors during the spring, and one of my all-time favorite nail polishes is Revlon's Creme Brulee.

5. The last nail polish I've been loving is Sally Hansen's Coral Reef. It is a gorgeous bright coral color.

1. What's your favourite nail polish company?
Probably Ulta. They are often BOGO Free, making them $3 each. They don't have the biggest color selection but they work really well.

2. Glitter or no glitter?
No glitter. I love the look, but it takes forever to come off.

3. OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?
I haven't tried too many of any of these brands, but I would have to say OPI. Essie really disappointed me, and I haven't actually painted my nails with the China Glaze polish I do own. Plus I love OPI's brush.
4. When do you change your nail polish?
Probably around twice a week, although it varies.

5. What's your favourite colour on your nails?
I really love blues! Light blue, bright blues, dark blues...I love them against my cool complexion.

6. Darks or brights?
Brights! I love looking at my nails and seeing a bright pop of color.
7. What are you wearing on your nails at this moment?
Ulta's Blue Streak

8. Matte nails - in or out?
Out. I occasionally see looks that I really like with matte nails, but I prefer the glossy look.

9. French Manicure?
I think their super classy for a special occasion, but their too plain for everyday.

10. Favourite winter colour?
I love the color of Essie's Chinchilly, but the formula leaves me hanging, haha. I just love more neutral colors, like dusty pinks and browns.

I hope you enjoyed this quick post!

This new collection really makes me wish I was not on Project Pan. Hopefullly they will still have some colors on my birthday!
If I was going to pick up any colors, I would probablly get:
Dress Me Up: A neutral dusty rose
Fast Track: Beige with gold sparkles
Stone Cold: graphite glitter

I am a true Hunger Games fan, having read all of the books 2 years ago, I can't wait to see the movie! I will be one of those crazy midnight-movie goers with a few of my friends.
Check out some amazing swatches at one of my favorite nail polish blogs: All Laquered Up:

NOTD: OPI's Mod-ern Girl

So I saw this at the clearance at my Ulta a while back, and (actually forgot I had it until now) so after I painted my nails with it, I did some research. It's actually from a 2008 summer collection, but you might be able to find it if you really love the color. It's a gorgeous coral color that leans more orange, though it depends on the lighting. I remember in Ulta I thought it was more pink, but in my living room it looks like a true coral. Then, in my sister's room (which is painted blue) it looks more orange. It took quite a few coats, but I didn't really mind. I have never tried an OPI nail polish before, and I have to say I LOVE the brush. I didn't care that I had to do 3 coats because of that brush.

Essie Spring 2012 Collection

I have only tried 2 Essie nail polishes, but I have only recently got into nail polish, but if you read my blog, you would know no nail polish until my birthday, or until Project Pan is over.

None of the colors in the Essie 2012 Spring "Navigate Her" Collection are even tempting me to buy anything.

The colors are Navigate Her, A Crewed Interest, To Buy or Not to Buy, Tour de Finance, OlĂ© Caliente, and Orange It’s Obvious.

If I was to pick up any of them, it would probably be A Crewed Interest (although I wouldn't be willing to buy it without research as the darker shades I have from Essie are sheer), and Ole Caliente.

What do you think about Essie? Plan on picking up any of these nail polishes?

NOTD: Essie's Dive Bar

One of my favorite new polishes is Essie's Dive Bar. Do any of you have that happy dance moment whenver one of your favorite guru's is wearing/bought a nail polish/beauty item that you have? Well Amarixe posted a NOTD with this color, and I realized I had yet to paint my nails with this color. So I went and did it! It's a gorgeous deep purple/blue duochrome color. It looks mainly black, but in the light flashes blue and purple. It was rather hard to photograph, but I did my best.

NOTD: Essie's Chinchilly

So I haven't painted my nails in a few days, so today I wanted to paint my nails with this color that I haven't used before. I'm honestly slightly disappointed with this nail polish. It's Chinchillyby Essie and it's a really pretty taupe color. I was expecting it to be fully opaque in one coat. But after two coats, it wasn't totally opaque. I have Revlon nail polishes that have better opacity than this color, and this color is supposed to be famous. It's a pretty result, I was just expecting more.

This nailpolish from Revlon, is one of my absolute favorites. Although it takes two coats to get to an acceptable level of opacity, and it can end up being a little streaky, the finished result is gorgeous. A beautiful nude with just the right amount of sheen and shimmer, it is a nail polish I reach for often. Plus, the chipping isn't very noticeable so this is one of the only nail polishes I can wear for more than a few days without a base/top coat.
