Review: Revlon Colorstay 16-hour Eyeshadows in Brazen

Today's review is on the Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Palette in Brazen. The colors are very pretty, neutral colors. I thought they were pretty unique, but as I was swatching them, and rearranging my makeup collection, I realized they are less-pigmented versions than the neutral side of Wet and Wild's Comfort Zone. I'm not at home right now, but I may compare them in a post soon. Anyways, this palette comes with a powdery yellow highlight, a sheer peach, a medium-bronze, and a dark brown. The shades really compliment blue eyes. All of the shades are pretty dry and to get good pigmentation you may have to dig a little bit more.

A lot of drugstore shadows do not last all day on my extremely oily eyes, even with a good primmer, but these last as long as I want them too.

The two biggest pans (peach and yellow) apply rather patchily, and you have to layer multiple times. Because of this, there is also some fallout, even though there is not a huge amount of shimmer. The darker shades perform a lot better, and both apply smoothly with minimal to no fallout.

The packaging is a lot better than the old Colorstay packaging. It feels fairly sturdy for a drugstore palette, and I like the fact that there is a different amount of each shade. The only problem is, that based on the face chart in the back, the lid color is the second to smallest shade. I personally use the peach as the lid shade usually, but if the bronze is supposed to be the lid, there should be more of it.

This palette is around $8 and I think that these are worth checking out, but this particular palette may not be the best buy. The colors are gorgeous, but there is a cheaper alternative that has 4 more shades, for a smaller price.

Review: NYC Kohl Eyeliner in 926 White

Today's review is on a product that was incredibly cheap. Only $.99 at Wal-Mart. I looked for a picture of the white one, but couldn't find one, and I couldn't take my own as it is hard to capture the foil writing. Just imagine this pencil in white.

This product is incredibly long, compared to other eyeliners. This might be good, as you get more product, but it is extremely unhandy to travel with.
Now this product is not very creamy and pigmented, but is buildable. Because of the lack of creamyness it lasts quite a long time on the water line, which is the only place I would use this eyeliner. If your looking for a white base, or eyeliner than can work as a highlighter, look elsewhere, because this is very dry.
I have to warm this eyeliner up on the back of my hand, then apply to my waterline, which allows me to do less tugging on my eye.

Review: L'Oreal Eye Makeup Remover Review

This product is honestly one of my most hated eye makeup removers. Ever. I wear contacts and if I get this in my eye, it stings. Really badly. Now I don't even wear waterproof makeup, and this makeup remover barely got off my eyeshadow and mascara. Add in a longer-lasting eyeliner like my Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips and you have to use so much product to even get it off.
I really think this makeup remover does a terrible job BUT I have heard the L'Oreal Nakeup Remover in the green bottle works a lot better. This retails for around $6, but it truly isn't worth that.
I will say, this makeup remover doesn't cloud my vision, isn't oily, and when I'm not wearing contacts it doesn't sting.
Packaging isn't that important, but I think it's a little tacky with the top, but that could just be me being picky,

Review: Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Style Heat Protection and Shine Spray

Let me just start off by saying, I do not have a lot of experience with heat protectants. Thhis is the only one that I have owned, but I have tried a few of my friends. family, etc. I do not have medium-thick hair, but this was the only one at my Wal-mart and silly me didn't even read the bottle when I picked it up.
The packaging is rather normal, but the nozzle is pretty annoying. It is awkward to hold and spray, especially for the back of your head, and it sprays in a single stream as opposed to misting out.
I personally spray this all over my head, starting at the top going around 7 times around my head, then I move the bottle down a bit and go around my head again, and then move it down once more doing the same thing. Then  I take a wide-toothed comb and comb through my hair to distribute the product.  do not recommend using a fine-toothed comb or a brush for this step as you want to leave the product in your hair. Then you need to let it dry. I typically apply heat protrectant before I do my makeup, and then after my makeup I style my hair.
Before I started watching youtube videos I didn't even know there was heat protectant for your hair, but as soon as I bought this one and starting using it, my hair felt so much better and softer. I don't see much of a difference in shine whenever I use this.
The smell is pleasant, and not over powering. I didn't even know the scent until I picked up the bottle before writing this review and smelled it. It smells clean with a little bit of citrus in it.
The cons for me is that it takes some wor to get it evenly in your hair and if you straighten your hair before it is completely dry your hair sizzles.

Review: Clean and Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser

Hey lovelies!

Today I am going to be reviewing the Clean and Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser. Before I get too far into the review, I would just like to state that this product is one of my absolute favorite products to use on my face. Ever. But the rating does not reflect that because it doesn't do what it is said to do.

This cleanser is super great for a pick-me-up, whether it's morning or not. I use this cleanser every morning, and also before special events and even sleepovers. It not only wakes you up physically, but somehow makes your skin look more vibrant as well. It leaves your face feeling fresh and clean and it smells fairly good, citrusy.

It isn't meant to cure acne, so it doesn't, but it sure doesn't make your acne worse. It is also really cheap and can be found at basically any drugstore with other Clean and Clear products.

Now why is this product rated so low? This product does not control oil whatsoever. If you do buy this product, don't expect your face to magically be matte, but honestly, it doesn't bother me.

The packaging is nothing special, but it is bright and has a pump which is always nice.

Review: Vera Bradley Medium Cosmetic

I had a coupon for $20 off any $20 or more purchase from Vera Bradley, so of course I had to pick up a cosmetic bag. This is the medium cosmetic (there is also a small and large) in the color Ellie Blue. This cosmetic bag retails for $25 and has a really cute quilted deisgn. On all the medium cosmetic, there is a stripe of different pattern down the front where as the small cosmetic has it horizontally.

This cosmetic bag is machine washable and lined on the inside with a clear material that you can just wipe off if any makeup spills or breaks (God forbid).

I haven't actually used this yet as I haven't gone anywhere yet, but I did see just how much makeup I could fit in it. It holds A LOT.



As you can see it fits a whole bunch of makeup. My powder, foundation, cream shadow, tinted moisturizer, two lipgloss, mascara, brow gel, primer, two concealers, two pencil liners, chapstick, highlighter, blush, eyebrow kit, and 4 eyeshadow pallets. I would have included brushes but I just washed them because I had no school today.

The only thing I wish it had was a small pocket on either the outside or the inside for something like bobby pins or something small, but all in all it's a great cosmetic.

Review: Maybelline Define-A-Line eyeliner in Brownish Black

I was looking up this product to see the price on Ulta, and did not find it. It is still on Maybelline's website so I do not think it is discontinued or anything...but unto the review:

This eyeliner from Maybelline claims to have smooth.precise application with all day wear. I do have to say, this eyeliner is super creamy and pigmented. All day wear? No.

 The packaging is a slim green tube with a cap in whatever color you got. I love the packaging as it stand out from your other eyeliners, but the color is still clearly visible. It has a smudger on the end, but as opposed to smudging it completely takes of the liner for me. It retails for around $6, depending on the store,

 This shade is brownish black. I don't think I would consider this any where near black as it is a brown. I would have called this dark brown, but the color is gorgeous.

 This pencil is  retractable eyeliner. you do not get a whole lot of product, but you don't waste any sharpening.
 








The second swatch is one swipe, the first one is slightly built up. The texture is fantastic and there is no need for building up more than 2 times.










After letting the eyeliner set for a little bit, I lightly ran my finger over the edge to simulate wear. As you can see it smudged right off. This happens on your eye within the first 2 hours of wearing.

Overall, this eyeliner is not worth any price you pay for it. The eyeliner doesn't last at all, although the texture and pigmentation are right on.

CoverGirl Trio: Shimmering Sands 110

This trio from CoverGirl is one of their more famous eyeshadow palettes. It retials for around $4 and comes with three, gorgeous, shimmery shades. This palette is really good quality for the price, and is quite pigmented.
The packaging is quite flimsy. The plastic top comes off quite easily, and the place where the sponge tip applicator takes up almost as much room as the actual eyeshadows. This palette might not be best for traveling but I still really enjoy it. Plus if it breaks, it's only $4.

 The first color is a shimmery medium-brown. This is the least pigmented and it takes a few layers to show up.
The next shade is a beautiful shimmery champoagne color. It is pretty pigmented, but does need a little bit of layering.
The last shade is a shimmer-cream highlight color which is absolutely gorgeous for inner corner and brown bone highlighting.
The darkest color does have the least amount of shimmer, but still enough to wear it is visible. It can be a little bit of shimmer overload, especially if your older. I feel as since I am a teenager, I can pull it off.

Here are some swatches from lightest color to darkest color. They are creamy and really easy to apply and blend.
This eyeshadows wear really well over a primer but a primer is needed.






Overall I think this is a really great palette if you are starting with makeup, but may not be necessary if you already have a lot of neutral eyeshadows.

Vera Bradley Tote: The Vera

I don't know if the Vera Bradley trend has reached your area, or been gone for a while, but in my school, almost everyone has something from Vera Bradley. I will admit, at first I was not into the Vera Bradley trend, but this pattern totally got me hooked.
The color is baroque, a gorgeous black, white, and green pattern that if your not sold on flowers, will be right up your alley. I did hear it was going to be discontinued, but you can still get it online.
This is the only piece from Vera Bradley that I own, but I recently got a coupon thing, so I think I'm going to go out and get one of the Cosmetic bags.
If your not familiar with Vera Bradley, she is known for her quilted, fun-pattern, high-quality purses and accesories. The Vera Tote is the largest tote available, and great for school, work, or packing for overnight trips. For me personally, this would be much too large to use as a purse, but hey, if that's what works for you, go for it!
The next two pictures are the promo pictures from the website. I have terrible lighting, so I wanted to get pictures that showed the true coloring.

 

 The Vera tote has 2 pockets on the outside of the bag. One has a zipper. (pictured to the left).

 The inside of the bag, has six pockets. The bottom, is made out of a (sutrdy) cardboard insert which can easily be removed for washing (yes it is machine-washable), but provides a hard surface so it will stand up.

The tote closes with this little button type thing.I like it because it stops you from having that annoying zipper-sound in the middle of class, but if it rains...well not so good for the papers inside. Plus everybody can see what it inside.









I can do a what's in my school bag post, but for now I'll just say what fits in here:

• 2 1 in. binders
• 2 1 subject notebooks
• 1 3 subject notebook
• a composition notebook
• an agenda
• and 6 folders.

You could put more in here (and I have), but this amount leaves you to be able to still close it easily, and not be too stuffed. I also have my pencil bag in one of the larger interior pockets, and my marker/coored pencil bag in the other large interior pocket.
The only downside to the space, is that if you were to want to put in a cosmetic bag or something, it would have to be pretty small because it's not wide enough for it to fit comfortable on the side of your books, and you don't want it to bulge by placing it next to your books.

This tote costs $80 but it is fantastic quality. You can also get some sale patterns for $58.

If I do end up getting something else from Vera Bradley, I'll try to do a review, but for now, bye ladies!

Bath and Body Works: Be Enchanted

Be Enchanted is one of my absolute favorite scents from Bath and Body Works. It is quite new, but it smells amazing. I currently own the Fragrance Mist ($12.50) but once my project Pn is over I plan on buying the Eu De Toilette ($29.50) and possibly the Lotion and/or the body butter.

Fragrantice says,

"Be Enchanted blends iced pomegranate, sugared petals and creamy musk to create this fresh, sparkling frosted floral fragrance sweetened with sugared pomegranate and inspired by all that glitters.

Top Notes: citrus, Iced Pomegranate, wildberries, passionfruit. Heart: honeysuckle, floral frosted bouquet, sugared violet, dewfruit, Asian pear. Base: vanilla, musk, sandalwood".
I don't really get as much fruity notes as it says it has. I smell more of a sweet and floray fragrnace. I love Bath and Body Works Fragrance Mists as they last a long time, and this one especially smells divine.

Review: Voluminous Million Lashes + Project Pan Update

I hit pan on a powder included in this Ulta makeup kit in the shade light/medium.

Yes there it is! The coveted silver. This powder is actually really nice for a natural looking finish. It's not the best for keeping you matte all day long or in coverage but it is decent.

Now, for what this post should be about: the review.
I recently picked up the L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes in 645 Noir Black. This mascara is my favorite mascara I have yet to try though as I have not tried too many, I might not repurchase for a while.

The packaging, in my opinion, is very classy. The gold is slightly reflective and I really love the simple lettering. It is a little bit bulky though.

The wand has plastic bristles. I like the fact that the shape gets smaller at both ends so you don't have to do the weird hand-twisty motion, if you know what I mean.








Now for my super short lashes this does amazing things. My favorite part, is that with one coat I get really great lashes for everyday, but I can build it up more. I found the best way to apply this didn't include an wiggling. Just put it to the base of my lashes and then go straight up. The formula is not too wet, nor too dry and once this mascara is on your lashes it's not too hard, but it does dry completely.

It lasts all day long without any smudging or migrating to my lower lash line.
It was around $7 which is a little bit pricey for a drugstore mascara, but all makeup is getting more expensive so it's all good.
