Clothing haul!

Ah, I haven't blogged in forever. I'm so sorry!
But yesterday was my last day of school! In a backwards fashion I went shopping yesterday. Usually I go shopping before school, or at least whenever there is school afterwards for my to shop, but my sister came home and we always go shopping with her so I guess this is a summer haul.
First up we went to Ross and I found a few really cute things.
I first found a pair of white shorts, but I already wore them and they are in the wash.
The next thing, the picture does it absolutely no justice. It's pretty much one of those sheer tanktops, but this one is navy blue with white polka dots. It has a collar, buttons all the way down, and it ties at the bottom.
When we were at Ross, my mom actually saw these shorts and made me try it on. It looks a little bit crazy, but this shirt would be a statement piece. It's a zebra racerback with ruffles and black lace. It's a bit crazy for me, but it's cute.
The last thing I picked up at Ross where these white sandals, which my sister actually also got. Call me crazy, but I don't have any sandals, at all, excluding flip-flops. These are really cute and extremely comfortable.
Then we went to the mall and we went to Burlington Coat Factory. I feel like it's not as well known as Ross or TJMaxx but it's the same principle. Discounted clothing.
The first shirt is very summery. The stripes are more coral in person, but I think it's very flattering. The vertical strips down the sides break up the normally widening horizontal stripes.
This next shirt is very lazy, casual, and tent-like. When I tried it on, my sister hated it, but it was only $4 and perfect for this lazy summer days. It's just sheer, white, lacy on the top, and with a high-low hemline.
The last thing I picked up at Burlington Coat Factory was something I've been looking for for a long time. If you watch Youtube beauty videos you probably have seen the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in bright colors. It's adorable but I do not have the money to buy one, so I was looking for a cute bright colored-bag that was big enough to carry the basics and cross-body. I wanted it for summer when hanging out with friends, because I remember last summer, I ended up leaving my purse in a store and that is just no fun.
My sister absolutely loves layering tank tops and we went into every store in the mall looking for some bright tank tops that were lacy. My personal favorite tank tops are from Charlotte Russe so when I saw this bright light green and teal in my size it was pretty exciting. They were on sale for $5.
The last store at the mall was Rack Room Shoes where I picked up another pair of sandals from the brand xappeal. These are silver with flowers and really cute. They also had them in gold and black. I ended up getting an entire size smaller than usual, because they didn't have half sizes and the eight was just way too big.

Then we went to Kohl's and I picked up three tops. The first one is a very casual teal short with yellow, purple, and navy stripes. This runs small, so try on a size larger.

This next shirt is showing up a little bit mint, but it is actually a true lime green. It is just a big "tent" shirt with a cinched bottom. It has little holes throughout it. I am planning on wearing this with a bright colored tank top (like the bright teal) under this shirt.

The last thing is one of my favorites. This piece can easily transition from summer to winter. It's pink with purple stripes, outlined in hot pink. It has the "butterfly" sleeves.
So that's my clothing haul! I hope you enjoyed. (:

Clothing and Shoe haul!

I've missed blogging so much and I promise I will be back soon. I decided to take a break of studying and make a post of a few clothing items I've picked up recently.
The first pair of shoes is from Rack Room Shoes. My sister's college graduation is coming up soon and I wanted a new pair of heels. These were on sale for $30 and their really simple and comfortable. I believe these are 3 inches. They have a peep-toe, and I tried to catch a picture showcasing the fact that they have really small holes throughout that create a visual interest without being crazy.

Then I went to Kohl's where the rest of my money was spent. I got these pair of really adorable silver strappy flats. I like these because they are open and spring/summer-like but they don't slap your feet like flip-flops do.
The next thing I got was this casual dress. It's navy blue and lime green with a t-shirt style top, a cinched waist with a braided brown belt, and a short flowy skirt.

Then I got this sunday-style grey skirt for church with some "flowers" on the bottom.

I have been searching for a pair of colored shorts and I absolutely fell in love with these. They are actually much more green in real life. A true bright teal, where as in the picture they just look bright blue.

The last piece of clothing was this shirt I got specifically to tuck into a high-waisted black shirt (which may be my first OOTD post in a few weeks) and it's just a bright blue shirt that looks quite simple. My mom likes to tell me the clothes that look simplest on the hanger look the best on me (that could just be motherly-love talking.)

You guys seeing my color scheme for this spring? The last thing I bought at Kohl's was this pair of earrings. Their gorgeous silver earrings with teal stones.
The last place I went was Bath and Body Works. I had a $10 off a $30 purchase and all of their signature line was buy 3 get 3 free. I got a shower gel and lotion of the following scents: Black Raspberry Vanilla, Rio Rumberry, and Bali Mango. The BRV shower gel is for me, the lotion for my mom, and one of either the RR or BM sets is for me, the other is for my sister.

I hope you enjoyed and watch out for more posts soon. (:

Spring Things Tag

Hey! Since I don't have a lot of time to do reviews or tutorials right now, I decided to do a tag. This tag has been going around on Youtube so here goes:

1. What are some things you are looking forward to this season?
I'm really excited for the warmer weather since I hate the cold. I am also really excited for spring training for drill team that starts in a few weeks.

2. What are some nail polishes you reach for during spring?
I actually didn't wear nail polish as often last spring, but this year I really have been loving Sally Hansen's Extreme Wear Nail Color in Coral Reef, which is a gorgeous really bright coral. I also really like Revlon's Minted.

3. What are some fashion and beauty trends you are going to rock?
I'm not huge on trends, but I really love the lace trend for fashion as well as the "Sun-Kissed" cheeks for makeup trends. Bronzer is a definite must for me.

4. Favorite spring accesories?
My favorite spring accesory is a simple pair of pearl earrings. They are so classy and I really love the way the look all year, but especially in spring.

5. Favorite spring scents?
I absolutely love Bath and Body Works Be Enchanted. It's the perfect blend of fruity, floral, and sweet.
Notes according to fragrantica:
Top Notes: citrus, Iced Pomegranate, wildberries, passionfruit.
Heart: honeysuckle, floral frosted bouquet, sugared violet, dewfruit, Asian pear.
Base: vanilla, musk, sandalwood

I tag anybody that wants to do this tag in a blog post or in a video or even in a comment!

You know those sheer nail polishes that never seem to get opaque? I had one nail polish from Ulta in the shade Baby Doll that really couldn't get opaque. I decided to try to layer it over a white and the result is pretty interesting. The pink shade is pretty translucent so it kinda looks like a pink and white duochrome nail polish. This is two coats of Wet and Wild's Wild Shine nail polish in French White crème and then two coats of Ulta's Baby Doll.

Also, I made drill team! Ah, I'm so excited! I still have to finish my state mandated science and history test so regular posts will still have to wait.

I was watching some youtube videos and I came across a review for this cheap jewelry website, gofavor.com I don't have money to spend on jewelry right now, but I wanted to share this with you in case you did have some money. It's all really cheap and adorable. There are plenty of reviews on youtube if your interested in looking at the quality of the pieces, but I haven't seen any videos that give bad reviews.
Here are just a few pieces that I thought were really cute.

Skin Care Routine!

Sunday, April 1, 2012

Hey girls! Today's post is about my skin care routine. I am a teenager that is VERY rpone to breakouts without enough money to buy an expensive skin care regimen. This skin care routine is made up of drugstore products, and although it does not completely clear up my face, it's the clearest it's ever been. I try not to be too harsh on my skin, or use too many products.
Morning:
1. Clean and Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser (review here)
In the morning, I don't like to use an acne fighting cleanser because it irritated and dried out my skin in the past. So instead, I use this product that wakes me up while cleaning my skin.

2. Clean and Clear Mattiyfing Mousturizer
Because I have very oily skin and live qwhere it is not uncommon for it to be in the triple-digits, anything that is mattifying is my best friend. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this moisturizer because it really did help mattify my face. It wasn't too greasy (which is great during the day) but still moisturizes your face and it has SPF 15.

3. The last thing I use in the morning, is the ProActive Daily Oil Control. My sister used the ProActive system and didn't want this. It does really help with oily skin, but I don't think I will repurchase when I run out. I only wear this whenever I am wearing makeup for the day.

Nightly routine:
1. After removing my makeup with whatever makeup reover I am using for the time, I use the Clearasil Ultra
Daily Face Wash. It's a reallly nice facial cleanser designed to fight acne.

2. At night, I use the Clean and Clear Advantages moisturizer. It's really moisturizing and does leave my face a little bit greasier which is why I use it at night.

3. The last thing I use daily is the Clearasil Ultra Spot Treatment. It really helps, A LOT for specific acne marks.

Twice a weak:
1. To exfoliate my skin, I use the Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Scrub. It works really well, but I can't use it very often as that would be too ebrasive on my skin.

I hope you all enjoyed! If you want reviews on any of these products, comment down below.

Quick Mini Haul and Preview Tutorial

Now this is not a haul with a bunch of stuff I do not need. I am trying out for drill team and needed a few things. I am also on thesdearch for Wet 'n' Wild's Mega Lash mascara (because it's waterproof and I don't have a waterpoof mascara) and then I will be all set. Neither my nearest Target, nor my nearest Wal-Mart had it.

The first two things I picked up are extremely boring. A black shirt and pants. Both from the brand BCG at Academy. We are required to wear all black on the last day of tryouts so that's what I picked up.

Also, throughout the rest of the tryout process, we are not allowed to wear Soffe's unless we have leggings underneath. I picked up this pair from Kohl's. They are capri black leggings.
(excuse the rotated picture, does anybody know how to fix it when it's already on Blogger?)

The last ting I picked up with this Elf Brightening Eye Quad in Drama. I don't have any smokey eye shadows and we are required to wear competition makeup the last day of tryouts. I picked up this one because it was cheap.

I was messing around with my "competition" makeup, and came up with a "cute" look. I will be trying it out, again, next weekend to make sure i have it perfect, and will be doing a tutorial. Here is a quick preview.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Getting Rid of a Sunburn

The first time I was outside during this spring time, I got a sunburn. It wasn't a normal sunburn either. It was the tops of my feet, the backs of my leg, the side of one arm, and half my face. You couldn't have just burned me all over so it would be normal?
Anyways, that caused me to remember all my mom's secrets (and some help from the internet) so that I could get rid of it fast!
1.  Whenever you get home, take a cool shower. Some people think taking a hot shower will help., but it will just irritate the skin.
2. Once your skin feels cool and you're not in pain anymore, take a loofah or a body scrub and exfoliate  your skin. This step can hurt if your sunburn is bad, but you need to get rid of the dead skin.
3. Apply either gel straight from the aloe vera plant, or a gel that has aloe vera in it, and rub it into your skin. The fiorst layer you should rub till it is absorbed by your skin, but then apply a second, thick layer that you want to leave there.
4. Dress in loose clothing so you do not irritate the skin.
5. Drink lots of water. You can get dehydrated easily when you are sunburned.
6. If you go outside, make sure you wear sunscreen . You do not want to make the problem first.
7. Reapply the aloe vera gel every hour or so for the first few days. After that, use an aloe vera lotion till it is completely gone.
Also, even if you do not think you are sunburned, it is good to complete some of these steps (such as the cool shower and aloe vera gel) because a sunburn doesn't show up right away.
Hope you enjoyed.

Preventing A Sunburn

These are just a few of my tips on how you can protect your skin from sunburn.

1. Try to stay out of the sun during the hottest time of day. It not only will be less fun but there is a better chance of getting a sunburn. This times usually ranges from around 11:30-3, depending on where you live.

2. If you can, try to stay covered, except for things like swimming. Tight clothing can be irritating in the heat, so wear loose flowy things while outside.

3. During spring, apply sunscreen heavily and often, as your skin is still getting used to the rays. If you want a tan, give your skin a while to adjust, before lowering your SPF level.

4. Use an SPF of 45+ daily.

5. Use a different sunscreen for your face than your body.

6. Whenever you get home, smooth all aloe vera lotion all over your body. Even if a burn doesn't look like a burn, it can develop, and the aloe vera will help keep it mild.

Check back soon for my Getting Rid of a Sunscreen Quick post.

Favorite Spring Nail Polishes!

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Hiya! These are all of my favorite spring nail polishes. These are not my own pictures, but I own ALL of these polishes in my collection.

1. Mint Green. I love mint green, especially on my toes, and mint green is a really popular color for spring time. This one is Revon's Minted. It is a little bit sheer, but I'm willing to work with it.
2. "Perriwinkle Shades." Perriwinkle mixes my two favorite colors effortlessly. The only perriwinkle type shade I have, is more of a dusty blue, but it still works for me. I might purchase a true perriwinkle shade, sometime, but not now. This is Ulta's Bam-Blue-Zled. It's gorgeous and again, it's a dusty blue with a hint of purple.

3. Pinky-Lavender. One of my favorite pink colors, is Lavender Marquis by Sally Hansen. It's a pink, with some purple, green, blue, and yellow duochrome. It's really cool, but it takes a few coats.
4. Nudes. I love shimmery-champagne colors during the spring, and one of my all-time favorite nail polishes is Revlon's Creme Brulee.

5. The last nail polish I've been loving is Sally Hansen's Coral Reef. It is a gorgeous bright coral color.

Haul

Yep. I broke my Project Pan. I'll save the excuses and just get unto the haul.
The first thing I picked up were these shoes from American Eagle by Payless. I also had a 20% off coupon. Their adorable jean colored peep-toe shoes with ruffles and a little bit of bling.

This shirt I got from Ross (one of my favorite places to shop). It's an XL when I normally wear a M, but it's just so big and flowy, it's adorable. The lace looks gorgeous when you wear it over bright tank top.

This picture does this article of clothing no Justice, but it's an adorable navy blue light jacket-type-thing that I found at Kohls.

For spring time I needed a new pair of shorts, and these are the brand Levi's also from Kohls. I like the distressing and their not TOO short.

Then I just got a pair of yoga pants because they were on sale for like $12.

Then I just got two pairs of Soffe's, one in "Vivid Blue", and then just a plain black pair.
At Ulta I got two nail polishes from Sally Hansen. They are the Extreme Wear line, which I am super impressed with. The first color is Blue Me Away!. It's pretty similar to Slapper, based on online swatches, from Butter London which I love.

This one is on my nails right now, the color Coral Reef. It's been on for almost a week, with a cheap base coat, and there is only little wear. It's a bright coral, that looks different in different lighting. Sometimes it looks really orange, others really pink.

I have the Wet and Wild Wild Shine nail polish in Black Creme and was super impressed so I just picked up French White Creme.

I don't have a liquid liner, so I tried this one by NYX. It was only $4.50 and it is in the color Extreme Black. It's super great, lasts a long time, but still washes off easily.

Then I got a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. It doesn't last all day on me as eyeshadow, and it creases in a few hours, completely fading by the end of the school day.,, but I love it as a cream eyeliner.
Then I got these shadows from Covergirl in Crystal Waters. The white isn't pigmented at all, and the green isn't that pigmented, but workable. The blues are gorgeous.
I also got this Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light. It is the perfect bronzer for fair skin. It swatches kinda orange, but when it's on your skin it's absolutely gorgeous. It has the faintest amount of shimmer that I love, because it gives you a glow, but actual shimmer isn't detectable.

The last thing I got was the Covergirl Contouring Trio in Purely Plum. The middle pink is a go The darker one is a little hard for me to use, but it is nicely pigmented.Gorgeous every day glow, and the light peachy-pink is a really pretty highlighter.

I hope you all enjoyed.
